The Clarus Team

HOUSTON

Rex Whiteside

President, Clarus Wealth Group
Registered Principal, RJFS

Rex founded Clarus Wealth Group with a clear vision of how a financial services company could help clients achieve their goals. Specializing in clients with complicated financial lives, Rex believes that our clients need more than a financial advisor who simply manages their investment portfolio. They are not one-dimensional, and Rex believes that one-dimensional service is not enough. Rex specializes in bringing clarity to the many complex personal, business and financial issues that our clients face. By taking a holistic approach to finances, Rex makes the overwhelming, manageable.

Rex understands that life is complicated. People face life-altering events such as a divorce, the death of a spouse, a second marriage, selling a business, starting a new venture, or facing a long-term illness. Rex tackles life’s curve balls by anticipating and planning for the unexpected. Rex is passionate about helping clients identify their financial and personal goals and educating them on how particular events or decisions may affect those goals. By making complex financial issues understandable, Rex seeks to empower his clients to pursue their financial goals with purpose.

Rex graduated from Southern Methodist University with a major in finance and a minor in economics. With over 25 years in the financial services business Rex has been recognized for his achievements and passion for helping his clients. A regular speaker at Raymond James national conferences, Rex has also been recognized for outstanding achievement as a member of the Executive, Leader’s and Chairman’s Councils*.

Beyond the office, Rex is very involved in the community. As Chairman of the Board for the Houston Chapter of the Clayton Dabney Foundation, Rex is dedicated to helping needy families that have a child with terminal cancer. In addition, Rex serves on the Dad’s Club Board at his son’s high school. Rex also serves on the finance committee for the River Oaks USTA Men’s Clay Court Championship tennis tournament.

Rex’s endless energy is not only evident inside the office but out where spending time with his wife Kristi and their two children, Madison and Grant make him happiest. The Whiteside family’s passion for the outdoors has them always looking forward to the next adventure.
